1. MobMan Transitional Work-Based Learning (TWBL) - 2018-1-UK01-KA202-047907

European Placement Network is the lead partner in the MobMan TWBL project. The project aims to create a user-friendly IT platform for the management of transnational work-based learning. It will allow for the grouping of all necessary information into one place and production of tailored key documents with ease.

There will be a Training Module, allowing users to develop their knowledge of the functionalities of the platform and an interactive User Guide to support users in the use of the key elements of the platform and enable autonomous use by education and training institutions, career guidance and job centres, associations and private enterprises both independently or a tool within existing TWBL programmes.

The platform can be used on individual computers and also via servers for multiple users thereby enhancing transparency, usefulness & accessibility. It will be open-source, downloadable via the MobMan TWBL web-platform and available in the 4 languages of the project, pleasant German and Italian.

It can be tailored according to the needs of specific target groups. It will empower organisers to manage high quality work-based learning with more efficient use of time. The project thus contributes to the mainstream utilisation of innovative resources, work methods and training for trainers and teachers.

The MobMan TWBL platform will also provide a pathway for the validation of qualifications, learning objectives and learning outcomes. It will be compatible with & complement the already existing tools & methods developed & promoted by the EU, such as Europass CV & ECVET.

2. ShowValA - 2019-1-UK01-KA202-0631790

EPN is the lead partner in the ShowValA project, which brings together 7 partners from 5 EU member states. The project comes from research and the observation that the learning and achievements of those who undertake a period of TWBL are often not recognised and do not always contribute to any potential certification. Furthermore, the learning and achievements are frequently not effectively showcased by candidates when looking to gain entry to the employment market.

There is therefore a gap between what trainees require and so ShowValA aims to fill that gap and encourage organisations and trainees to learn how to present objective evidence of achievements and learning, making effective use of the very best materials and tools available, such as Europass CV and the European Skills Passport.

ShowValA will create a multi-format Smartphone/tablet Application to showcase formal & non-formal learning & achievements in TWBL: This will allow trainees to collect, save and organise evidence of their achievements during their TWBL on a day to day basis. It will fit in very well with their current lifestyle habits as young people tend to manage a significant proportion of their activities on their Smart phones. It will have the potential to be a complete record of their experiences, achievements and unlike a traditional diary, the interface will be structured in relation to agreed learning objectives, units of learning outcomes and skills/competences.

There will be a ShowValA Guide, Process and Tools for educational institutions and mobility organisers on how to fully integrate a period of TWBL into a vocational pedagogical programme and assess formal and non-formal learning and achievements, leading to a recognition of the achievement of learning outcomes and their contribution to the overall course assessment and certification using ECVET principles and materials as appropriate.

There will also be ShowValA Guide & Training Modules for Trainees: This will feature an innovative methodology for an online pre-departure preparation of trainees to use the smartphone application and after their return home, there will be structured, online activity-based valorisation modules on how to link their learning during the work placement with Europass CV, Europass Skills Passport and to best showcase their achievements to potential employers.

3. Mobility+ - 2020-1-FR01-KA204-080440

EPN Germany is involved as a partner in the Erasmus+ Strategic Partnership called MOBILITY+.

The objective of the MOBILITY+ project is to build tools that enable adult educators and staff to raise awareness and support their adult learners in taking part in new trans-European mobility projects.

The adult learners will be able to enhance their career path by acquiring an experience abroad and developing the key competences currently required by employers and that will be enable them to secure fulfilling employment in the future.

Four partners from Estonia, France, the UK and Erfurt, Germany take part in the project and they all come from regions where unemployment is having a major impact and where the uptake of European mobility programmes is less common.

The project target educators, trainers and staff who work in the field of adult education and aims to dramatically increase their knowledge and awareness of the current mobility opportunities available for their adult learners.

The partners will create 4 main outputs, including documentary guides and materials, training modules and pedagogical videos. Three of these outputs are already produced and available to download.

6. Portfolio for Employment (PFE)- 2021-1-BE01-KA220-VET-000034646

EPN Germany is a partner in the PFE project along with 6 other partners from 6 EU Member States.
The project was launched during the first transnational meeting in Brussels on February 3 and 4, 2022. It will last three years, until January 2025.

The Erasmus+ strategic project “Portfolio for Employment” (PFE) aims to equip young people, especially VET learners, with tools that will help them to become aware of their strengths and the categories of professions that would suit them, to facilitate their job search and their first steps in their professional life. It also aims to strengthen the proper use of digital tools in preparation for professional life.

We shall produce a digital portfolio containing a variety of tools to facilitate job market access for VET trainees from all backgrounds. We shall identify and transform existing relevant tools before designing innovative new ones to meet their needs. The portfolio will contain a methodology for teachers and trainers so that it can be used at school and in training centers. But learners will also be able to use it independently as each module will contain interactive elements.

7. Naturally Sustainable - 2021-1-LV01-KA220-VET-000025436

EPN Germany is a partner in the NATURALLY SUSTAINABLE project, which brings together 8 partners from 8 EU Member States.

Educational institutions are among the most influential elements in the implementation of sustainability and sustainable development concepts. Their decisions have an impact on the economic, social and environmental dimensions of the communities and regions around them. Society expects them to educate young people and contribute to society. There is still no clear understanding of how to integrate sustainability into systems, no guidelines for action, no checklist that would be equally useful for all VETs or that could be applied by all. The institutions are too different in terms of legal form (private or public), location (rural or metropolitan) or size (small and specialised or large offering a full range of faculties).

The aim of the project is to research and provide an overview of good practice in European VET schools, prepare guidelines on innovative teaching methods and systemic engagement activities for staff and students, provide a platform for sharing experiences and contribute to activities on the environment and climate change in the European Union and beyond.

The objectives of the project are to
1. To motivate and empower people through new opportunities for training and engagement in sustainability.
2. To provide innovative solutions, teaching methods, research and practice to target groups, staff, teachers and learners in vocational and adult education;
3. To excel and extend knowledge of good practice to educational institutions and key players in sustainability issues and activities in Europe.
European Intergenerational Support Career Development Initiative - Developing an innovative approach to intergenerational adult learning in the light of the COVID19 pandemic.

10. Personal Transnational Mobility Assistant (PTMA) - 2022-1-FR01-KA220-VET-000086600

EPN Germany is a partner in the PTMA project along with seven other partners from seven EU Member States.

Since the onset of COVID-19, there has been a dramatic reduction in the number of transnational mobility opportunities for learners across all sectors & low-skilled VET trainees in particular. PTMA aims to use digital technologies to prepare & accompany potential mobility participants so they have the confidence to take part safely in transnational mobility &/or in-person/hybrid work-based learning experiences.

Our research showed that an overwhelming majority of young people aged 16-24 own a smartphone. This is where the idea for the PTMA project was born. We will create a multi-format ‘Personal Transnational Mobility Assistant’ smartphone app with customisable scenarios & solutions, access to key documents & one-touch messaging with identified contacts. We will also design multi-access interactive mobility preparation modules for trainees & a pedagogical guide for educators.

All the PTMA results will be digitally based, open-source, available in 8 languages & tested by 48 learners & 16 tutors in the pilot studies across the 8 countries of the partnership. The PTMA results will be adaptable to other sectors, dramatically increasing the potential impact & underlining the cross-sectoral dimension of the project. In this way, the PTMA project provides innovative digital solutions aligned with the technology & needs of today without neglecting the experience of yesterday.

11. MANAGEMOB - 2023-1-SE01-KA220-SCH-000154384

EPN Germany is a partner in the MANAGEMOB project along with four other partners from four EU Member States.

MANAGEMOB aims to promote transnational mobility opportunities for students & trainees through the design a digital, code-free, cloud-based solution for user-friendly mobility management. In this way, we will contribute to reversing the recent trend of a reduction in the number of transnational mobility opportunities for learners across all sectors & students in particular due to the continuing impact of COVID-19 & the significant investment of staff resources in organising mobilities.

In our research 96% of staff who manage or potentially manage transnational mobilities identified time constraints as the most important difficulty they face. Therefore, in addition to the customisable MANAGEMOB one-stop platform, we will design interactive tutorials & user guides, covering all major formats, accessible anywhere, anytime. The MANAGEMOB results will be tested by 30 staff from 15 educational institutions via 40 ‘live’ mobilities in pilot studies across 5 countries.

The MANAGEMOB results will be digitally based, open-source, available in 5 languages & adaptable to other sectors, thereby dramatically increasing the potential impact & underlining the trans-sectoral dimension of the project. In this way, the MANAGEMOB project provides innovative digital solutions aligned with the technology & needs of today, opening up more opportunities & encouraging social inclusion, sustainable development & a positive attitude to European cooperation.

12. From Internship in Europe To Employment (FIETE) - 2023-1-DE02-KA220-VET-000156260

Managed by European Placement network Germany & a consortium of 5 partners, the project will last 36 months until August 2026. FIETE promotes ways for currently unemployed recent graduates from VET courses to get maximum benefit from a long-duration internship in another European country leading to exciting employment opportunities. In this way, we will contribute to reversing the recent trend of a reduction in the number of transnational internship opportunities across all sectors & for graduates in particular due to the ongoing impact of COVID-19 & the reluctance of companies to host trainees from abroad.

In our research 87% of graduates said ‘lack of workplace experience’ was given by potential employers to explain an unsuccessful application, only 27% of companies had hosted a trainee for an internship in their company. Therefore, we will design digitally-based remote access learning resources for the preparation, realisation & valorisation of post diploma internships. The FIETE results will be tested by 40 graduates, 40 host companies & 10 VET providers in pilot studies in 5 countries.

The FIETE results will be digitally based, accessible easy access links, available in 6 languages & adaptable to other sectors, thereby dramatically increasing the potential impact & underlining the trans-sectoral dimension of the project. In this way, the FIETE project provides innovative digital solutions aligned with the technology & needs of today, opening up more opportunities & encouraging social inclusion, sustainable development & a positive attitude to European cooperation.
